Greetings,

a strange problem occurred regarding the Cytech alarm system. Some of the logic (lighting control, gate control, garage door control etc.) of the system in a family house is controlled by Cytech. After commissioning the system was working well for a month until yesterday. All the systems mentioned before controlled by Cytech stopped working.  It seems that the communication between the KNX system and Cytech did not work. We even tried removing and restoring the power supply of Cytech, but that did not solve the problem.  After a while the system started working again.  Today the same problem occurred again. What seems to be the problem? Is it a hardware problem?

We are using Comfigurator v. 3.4.4.0.

The log from Cytech did not show any odd messages.

We uploaded the program from Cyteh (Uploaded). In the Response 225 and 573 there are error messages in the "Response Errors" field. In the backup file that we downloaded to Cytech in the Responses 225 and 573 there are no errors. The responses in the uploaded and backup file are not the same (even the KNX group addresses that are written to from these responses are different in the uploaded and backup file). These files are in the attachment.

The problem is most likely not related to the error in the uploaded file
That difference in the uploaded is most likely due to a conversion error by Comfigurator when it reads the file
If possible use the latest 3.5.1 (beta) to read the file again and see if this still happens.

The intermittent problem with KNX may be related to the bus
When the error occurs what are the state of the LEDs on the UCM/KNX? Is the ERR led on or any of the BUSY1 and BUSY2? If ERR led is on it indicates a problem with the KNX bus, perhaps voltage or some corruption on the bus. The normal condition of the LEDs on UCM/KNX is RDY led ON, ERR odd, BUSY1 blinks when there is a telegram from the bus and BUSY2 blinks when there is a telegram to the Bus from Comfort

The file Untitled.cclx has been read from panel by 3.5.1 and it indicated errors when trying to save. Backup has been created by 3.4.4. We will try to read Backup.cclx with 3.5.1 and let you know.

About LEDs, we'll check and let you know.

Greetings,

we are having problems with the UCM/KNX module. Some parts of the system
(family house) such as lighting control, gate control, garage door control,
etc., are controlled by Cytech alarm module. The system was working well for
about a month. Then suddenly the system stopped working, for example, the
garage door would not close/open or a light controlled by Cytech would not
turn On or Off when pressing the appropriate KNX push button in the house.
After a while the system started working again on its own. Also, the system
would start working again after pressing the RESET button on the UCM/KNX module.
This happened so far a couple of times. When this problem occurred, the status of
the LED-s on the UCM/KNX module were:

RDY - steady ON
BUSY1 - OFF, but when pressing a KNX push button it would blink once
BUSY2 - steady ON
ERR - OFF, but when pressing a KNX push button it would blink once

The EVENT LOG in Comfigurator (v. 3.4.4.0) did not show anything odd. When the
system was not working we tried the MONITOR MODE function in Comfigurator. Even
though the system was not responding after pressing the push buttons, MONITOR
mode showed the source physical KNX address of the push button that sent the
KNX telegram to Cytech.

We are using this UCM/KNX module:

UCM PC01-066A (Big PCB - Primary module), Bar code: C032275
PC01-035B (Small PCB - EIB module), Bar code: P046747

BUSY2 remaining on means that the UCM is not getting an acknowledge reply from the bus when it sends a mesage
Could there be a conflict in the Physical address?

Your UCM/KNX is firmware 5.234 from checking the serial number
If possible please upgrade to KNX 6.015 which is the latest, so that we can check according to the same version

Could it possible that the KNX Bus  has a problem?

It is also possible that the KNX submodule  is faulty but we should check the firmware first

By the way I am moving this post from the UCM Troubleshooting to the KNX forum so it will be easier to find

To me what happens is that when I sent a KNX telegram, works correctly the first time, but the counter is switched from 0 to 255. After not okay again more times until reset the COMFORT

I have to Comfort ULTRA with firm 6.28, UCM / ETH with 6.08 and ECM / KNX with 6.24, and with Configurator version is 3.5.6.

Regards

I dont understand what you mean by
when I sent a KNX telegram, works correctly the first time, but the counter is switched from 0 to 255. After not okay again more times until reset the COMFORT
If you send a KNX telegram to turn on a device, the mapped counter is set to 255
Can you describe precisely what is the problem

By the way you only need to post the message in one forum, we monitor all the forums

Sorry for duplicated massage.

The problem is:

I pressed a button on KNX. Send a telegram to the corresponding counter and executes the response. Again I push the button and send the telegram but comfort does not execute the response. The following pulse times either the run.

I've looked at the status of the counter when I press the KNX button the first time and goes from 0 to 255, but the second and following times does not change 255.

When the COMFORT restart again do the same. work correctly the first time but not the following.

Sorry for my English.

It depends on how the button is programmed
If the button always send ON command, then the counter will be set to FF every time
If the button toggles between Off and ON then the counter value will change to 0 and 255 respectively

Open the I/O Monitor in Comfigurator View Menu

Login and you will be able to see the Counter values updated
eg CT0500 is Counter 5 = 0
CT05FF is Counter 5 = FF (255)
This shows you the counter changes
If there is no change, eg Counter remains at FF then there will be no change reported

Most of my KNX telegrams to COMFORT are for value 1 (in counter FF (255)). Is for this that after the second press does not the response. Two weeks ago they did not, but I'm not sure since when it does. Maybe for a firm change.

The only solution I have given is to the response to reset the counter to 0.

Thanks.

Why not change the KNX button to send 1 and 0 alternately?

If you cannot do that then in the Counter response, set the counter to 0. Then the next button press will see the counter change to FF again

That is another alternative. But for me it is more easy to modify the COMFORT, not the KNX.

What most surprises me is that with the same programming comfort of a month ago I was successful, but not now.

Thanks for all.

I am sure Comfort will act the same way, if you examine the old and new programs
