Hi

I've just upgraded my Comfort Firmware to 6.028.:)

All went well except there was no "Security Off" announcement when expected.:?

A bit of digging later and it would appear that something has caused the Vocabulary to be wiped.

Transfer|System Information reports the correct (6.028) firmware but "Vocabulary Number", "System Vocabulary Version" and "User Vocabulary Version" are all reported as 0 (zero), as is "LCD Text Version" and "LCD KP Minimum Version"

I'm not sure what to do to recover from this. Is it simply a matter of doing a Vocab Upgrade or are things a bit more serious!?

Thanks for any help

Regards

Neil

Sorry to reply to my own post but, I bit the bullet and did a Vocab Upgrade.

Everything now seems to be working and Comfort, SWMBO and I are happy again :D

Cheers

Neil

Hi Neil (all)

I am getting beat by the firmware update again. I am using comfigurator 3.5.6 firmware 6.011& UCM 10 firmware 6.008.

I have downloaded the 6.028 for Comfort http://www.cytech.biz/ucmzwave_firmware.html?category_id=101

I have downloaded the 6.024 for z-wave
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/2409.html

I have followed the instructions http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/2409.html
In this article it telll us how to do this without using the programming cable. All seems to be fine until the upgrade asks me to press F0 which does nothing, I get a long tone after pressing both F & 0 together then go back and click on OK in comfigurator and I am just asked to press F0 again.

Any thoughs?

Cheers

Lee

Hi Lee

I'm afraid I'm not an expert on Comfort and was doing the upgrade using the programming cable.

However, when you say "I get a long tone after pressing both F & 0 together", I think (and could be wrong :?) that you press F then 0 rather than F and 0.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Neil

Hi Neil,

Thanks for coming back to me.

Tried that and get the long tone and the unit says something like "please sign in" even though Comfigurator is logged in.

Hi Lee

Sorry mate but you may as well have been typing Italian there (Mi dispiace TheMax74 - Sto scherzando ;))

The clipboard dump means nothing to me at all. I think you would be best directing this to one of the tech support guys.

Hope you get it sorted - It's probably something really simple that you'll be embarrassed about when you realise what you're not doing - At least, that's normally how I feel!

Cheers

Neil

Hi Neil,

Thanks, and spot on.... think they get a bit frustrated with me at times.

Cheers.

Dont try the upgrade just yet
Follow the steps below
  1. Just press and release the F key followed by the 0 key
  2. Do you hear any long beep? or does the voice say "please sign in"? or is there silence?
  3. If there is silence, this is correct. Now try the firmware upgrade again
  4. If it says "Please sign in", it is asking for your user code because of the way the 0 function key is programmed. enter your user code and # key. There should now be silence. Now try the firmware upgrade

Hi Ident,

If I press and release the f button then press 0 I hear nothing.

Is that right? should I try the firmware again?

Best Regards

Lee

so just to confirm I pressed f and released followed by 0, and then clicked ok in comfigurator. mesage jumps back saying press f0.

repeated a few times, same result.

Does the log help?

off to work now, so will try  any other suggestions later

Thanks

You have deleted the Response Engineer Code which should be assigned to the F0 key in Control > Keypad
Hence F0 is not having any effect
The screenshot is what it should be like
Can you add the Response as shown
If in doubt open a default Template and copy the Response exactly
